Our History

aesthetica is the culmination of a long term friendship between two inspirational women, Tracy Dobbin and Roslyn Camuglia. Women who have devoted their entire professional lives to making men and women look and feel better.

At just 20 years of age, Tracy and Roslyn were both well established in their own beauty and hairdressing businesses, positioned on neighbouring sides of a bright new retail precinct in the sleepy North Queensland town of Innisfail.  Their combined passion for service and technical skills saw the pair come together on numerous occasions to support charity fashion shows and it was here the professional chemistry between the two became evident.  While life took its usual course and saw Tracy and Roslyn pursue different paths, it was not long before the dynamic duo reunited in cosmopolitan Brisbane.  A combined beauty and hairdressing service was inevitable and in 2005 Design on Beauty was born in the heart of Coorparoo. With a rapidly growing reputation for excellence amongst Brisbane's southeast, it was not long before the salon received Quest Newspapers' highly coveted Business Achievers Award.

Following three successful years as Design on Beauty and with more than 1,500 clients on its books and an ever expanding menu of specialist services, the decision was made to rebrand the business.  In November 2008 and while still under the helm of Tracy and Roslyn, Design on Beauty evolved to aesthetica - an appreciation of all things beautiful. Today, aesthetica offers specialized and select skincare treatments, including its signature VPL photo facial and professional hair care and make-up styling in what is considered one of Brisbane's leading aesthetic experiences.
